Château Pétrus 2010, Pomerol, Bordeaux, French
The 2010 vintage of Château Pétrus stands as one of the landmark expressions of this legendary Pomerol estate, combining power, finesse, and extraordinary longevity.
Tasting Profile
Pétrus 2010 is deep ruby‑garnet in the glass, with a nose that opens in layers — crushed stones, earthy minerality, cast‑iron pan and gravel, overlaid with richly scented aromatics of dark plums, baked blueberries, licorice, Black Forest cake, violets and subtle pencil shavings. On the palate it is full‑bodied and concentrated, yet remarkably refined: the tannins are fine‑grained and firm, lending structure, while a lively freshness balances the richness. Flavours echo dark fruit, plum preserves, and spice, with nuances of truffle, wild herbs, and just a whisper of oak‑driven vanilla or caramel. The finish is very long, polished, with a complexity that keeps revealing new dimensions as the wine evolves in the glass.
